Kelsi Austin Lowe, our precious gift of 10 1/2 years, died of complications from acute
lymphocytic leukemia (A.L.L) on November 20, 2002. Our hearts have been shattered
and forever changed.
Throughout Kelsi's illness and chemotherapy treatment we had many lengthy hospital
stays resulting in time off work and away from family and friends. Losing Kelsi has been
catastrophic, but we continue to be aware and confronted with other families who are
battling various other childhood illness and diseases. Kelsi experienced 90 days of intense suffering, but her heart was courageous and she trusted God. Even in her own pain Kelsi was very aware of other children around her who were also ill. She wanted to help them and do what she could for them while in the hospital and actually discussed how we could help families as soon as she got better.
Kelsi never "got better", but to honor her amazing heart for others, we have established The Kelsi Austin Lowe Foundation, a non-profit organization set up to help families with seriously ill children.
Learning to live life without our champion and hero is extremely difficult, but we gain inspiration by the vision of our sweet Kelsi fighting for her life for 3 very long months, and the many other "friends" who continue to fight 24 hours a day to live.
The Kelsi Austin Lowe Foundation, has a goal of providing emotional and financial assistance to families with seriously ill children in the Central Valley of California.
You can make a tax-deductable donation at any time to help these families.
